Syracuse athletic director Gross declines comment on end of investigation into Fine

ABOARD USS MIDWAY, SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Syracuse athletic director Daryl Gross declined to comment Sunday on the news that prosecutors will not charge Bernie Fine following their investigation into child-molestation allegations.

Gross, who is in attendance for the Battle on the Midway between Syracuse and San Diego State, said he would not discuss the matter with The Daily Orange.

Fine, the former associate head coach for the men’s basketball team, served on head coach Jim Boeheim’s staff for 35 full seasons. Chancellor Nancy Cantor fired Fine following multiple allegations of molestation that surfaced in November 2011.
