NFL’s Dallas hires Pasqualoni

One day after being relieved of his duties as Syracuse head football coach, Paul Pasqualoni vowed he would coach again. ‘It’s only been a day,’ Pasqualoni said on Dec. 30. ‘So I don’t have any idea of what I will do. But I certainly will coach. That’s what I love to do.’

And that’s what he’ll do next fall. Pasqualoni was hired by the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys as an assistant coach, the Associated Press reported. He was not yet assigned an official position by Cowboys’ head coach Bill Parcells.

Pasqualoni was fired Dec. 29, eight days after SU lost, 51-14, to Georgia Tech in the Champs Sports Bowl. Syracuse finished its season 6-6 and failed to capture a winning record for the third straight year.

Pasqualoni was 107-59-1 in his 14 years at Syracuse.
