The Syracuse women’s basketball team started three freshmen in its game against Villanova last night. And out of the 11 players who saw playing time, it was those three whom recorded double-figures in scoring.

The Orange lost, 62-45, to Villanova last night at The Pavilion to drop to 11-11, 3-8 in the Big East. Freshmen Mary Jo Riley (10 points), Vaida Sipavicuite (11) and Jessica Richter (10) led SU in scoring.

Syracuse led the Wildcats, 10-9, but trailed the rest of the game. Jana Rediger scored 16 points to lead Villanova.

The Orange next plays on Saturday against Boston College at 2 p.m. at Manley Field House.
