Rippon joins DeLeone at Ole Miss
Former Syracuse football assistant coach Chris Rippon joined the staff at Ole Miss on Wednesday. Rippon, who was not retained by new SU head coach Greg Robinson, was with the Orange for 12 years.
Rippon, whose hiring is pending approval by the Board of Trustees, State Institutions of Higher Learning, will serve as the special teams coordinator and the defensive backs coach. Last season, Rippon served as SU’s special teams coordinator and safeties coach.
Rippon joins former SU associate head coach George DeLeone, who was hired by Ole Miss in January.
Ole Miss head coach Ed Orgeron coached the defensive line at Syracuse from 1995 to 1997, and coached with both Rippon and DeLeone.
