13 most Insta-worthy places on campus
Logan Reidsma | Photo Editor
As school begins again, students flood to Instagram to show off their school pride to their friends back home. Whether it’s -20°F in the middle of February or 90°F in late August, these 13 pic-worthy places are always worth the post.
The Water Towers
So what if it’s illegal to climb to the top of the water towers? So what if it’s a tad life-threatening? The likes you’ll get will make the risk worth it. Especially at sunset.
The Quad
OK so this spot may not be as appealing in the frigid months of winter, but it sure is a good bet in the summer. If you can manage to capture the sun and the good vibes of everyone bustling through the quad on an early fall day, you’re in for some mad Insta-love.
Gannon’s Ice Cream
Gannon’s is a one-stop-shop for everything you need in life: ice-cream, sprinkles and cool pics. That’s not all you need? Change your priorities.
DJ’s On the Hill
The messiest place in Syracuse is a perfect place from which to Instagram. That way, you can feel the regret more completely when you wake up the next morning covered in sticky alcohol and shame.
Hendricks Chapel
Hendricks is definitely one of the most underrated spots on campus. Home to People’s Place (cheap and delicious coffee), a gorgeous interior and steps on which to bask in the sun, the opportunity for quality photos is endless.
The Kissing Bench
Do you feel like making everyone around you feel inferior with your love? Then the kissing bench is the place for you! Let all of your followers know that you’re in love and in it for the long haul with this classic photo.
Crouse
Known by all of your friends from home as “the Hogwarts building,” Crouse is a staple of the SU student’s Instagram. If you haven’t yet posted a similar pic, get on it before your Orange card is revoked.
Maxwell Abe Statue
Abe is just begging you to sit in his lap. Look at how well an average sized human fits. Try it. You might get some weird looks but it will be worth it in the end, probably.
ESF Abe Statue
The stereotypical Instagram of drunk freshmen everywhere*. Future frat bros dare their fellow bros to climb on top of the statue, take a gnarly pic, post, and wait for the ladies to come flocking. Hint: they never do.
*Lawrinson, Sadler, BBB and ESF
The Carrier Dome
The symbol of ‘Cuse sports, the Dome is a must-have on The ‘Gram. However, it is really hard to get a good photo of it because of its insane size. @mingrosec really killed the game on this one.
Hall of Languages
No matter the weather, the Hall of Languages is easily the most beautiful place on campus. Even the most novice of photographers can capture a 100+ likes pic of HoL.
Newhouse
Like the Dome, Newhouse is not the easiest to photograph, but if you get a good angle, your post will be poppin’.
Castle Court
Castle Court is almost as messy as DJ’s with half the sweat. The perfect recipe for a cute pic to reminisce about over brunch.
