Since 1910, Hercules Candy Company has been crafting original-recipe candy in its East Syracuse shop. While the store offers the classics, it serves up some more creative candies as well. Celebrate National Candy Day on Nov. 4 with some of these wacky treats from the third-generation confectioners. Also, vote below for your all-time favorite candy and check back to see who wins.
Peanut Butter Cow Chips
Chocolate-covered potato chips are a signature item at Hercules. These ones are covered in peanut putter, however, giving them a distinctive look that garnered the name “cow chips.”
Chocolate Horse Hiney
According to Hercules’ website, this solid chocolate novelty item is a gift for anyone who has been, well, a horse’s hiney.
Chocolate-covered Gummy Bears
If you’re a fan of regular gummy bears, definitely give this chocolate-covered variety a try. They come in milk and dark chocolate.
Chocolate Smartphone
If you want to play a joke on someone who doesn’t have a smartphone yet or have a friend that’s glued to their iPhone, this would be the gift for them.
Chocolate Pizza
This sweet pie has a milk chocolate crust, colored white chocolate sauce, grated white chocolate cheese and peanut butter candy mushrooms, according to Hercules’ website.
Chocolate PMS Pill
When it’s the time of the month when it feels like chocolate would solve all your problems, give Hercules’ PMS Pill a try. Warning: the label says side effects may include euphoria and cessation of worry.
