Freddie Crittenden’s school-record time in the 110-meter hurdles led the Orange this weekend in Syracuse’s two meets. The senior’s time of 13.42 seconds is the third-fastest time in the world this year and placed him 0.24 seconds ahead of the runner-up finisher this weekend.

The Orange took first and second in the 800 meters, as Paul Lovell took first place and teammate Adam Palamar finished 0.56 of a second later for second.

Crittenden’s time is .06 seconds faster than his previous best, set last year at the War Eagle Invitational. The senior’s time is over two-tenths of a second better than his last run in the event, taken last week at the Florida Relays.

The women’s 4×100-meter relay team also fared well in Miami, finishing second behind the hometown team of Miami. Dasia Pressley, part of the relay team, finished first among Syracuse runners in the individual 100-meter event, finishing in ninth place. On the men’s side, senior Winston Lee placed 10th in the same event.

Danielle Delgado ran well for Syracuse in both of her hurdles runs, finishing fifth in both the 100-meter and 400-meter events. Her finish in the 100-meter hurdles was just one-hundredth of a second ahead of the sixth, seventh, and eighth-place finishers, and just over five-tenths of a second ahead of teammate Aviana Goode.

In Princeton, Sydney Leiher paced the women’s distance team with a second-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase. The senior finished just 0.04 seconds behind first place finisher Nell Crosby, of Columbia. Kevin James and Griff Molino also impressed for the Orange, finishing third and seventh in the men’s 5000 meter run.

Syracuse will compete in four different meets over the next two weeks. First, the Orange will be back in Princeton for the Larry Ellis Invitational on Thursday, April 13. Then, on Friday, April 14, the Virginia Challenge. Saturday, April 15, the Orange gear up for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket Invitational while Sunday, April 16, Syracuse will send runners down to compete in the Cornell Upstate Challenge.
