Syracuse men’s rowing will host two races at the James A. Ten Eyck Memorial Boathouse during the 2017-18 season.
In the fall, SU will take part in three events, including the world’s largest two-day regatta on Oct. 22: the Head of Charles Regatta. The Orange last competed in the event in 2013 when the eight-man boat with coxswain placed 19th.
The Eastern Association of Rowing Colleges season begins April 7, with SU taking on Wisconsin. A week later, SU hosts Cornell and Navy as it vies for the Goes Trophy. Then on April 21, Syracuse will try to repeat as Conlan Cup winners when it heads east to Boston to race against Boston University and Columbia.
After wrapping up the regular-season slate against Dartmouth, postseason races for the EARC title begin on May 13 in Worcester, Massachusetts. The Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship Regatta will be held in West Windsor, New Jersey, starting June 1. In 2017, the Orange’s varsity eight boat finished eighth, it’s best finish since 2012, where it finished fifth.
