Syracuse will have its 26th-straight matchup with Colgate on Nov. 21 in the Carrier Dome.
Syracuse knocked off Colgate, 72-58, at home in early December last season. Three SU players scored double figures: Tyus Battle (24 points), Oshae Brissett (20) and Frank Howard (18). The Raiders hung around due to a strong showing from beyond the arc, 14-for-35 as a team and 6-for-12 for Jack Ferguson.
Colgate reached the Patriot League title game last season and ended up playing in the College Basketball Invitational in the postseason. The Raiders bring back, among others, Will Rayman, who averaged 14.6 points per game last year, and Jordan Burns, who made a late decision to decommit from Division II basketball that led him to Colgate. Burns averaged 11.9 points as a freshman.
Matt Langel enters his eighth season as Colgate head coach after being last season’s Patriot League Coach of the Year.
The Orange’s 171 matchups with Colgate is more than any other opponent in program history. The battle of central New York foes favors the Orange 125-45 with SU winning the past 51 matchups.
