At the Atlantic Coast Conference Awards Ceremony Saturday, Syracuse won two awards and had a conference-leading five All-ACC team selections.

Head coach Luke McGee won his second straight ACC Coach of the Year award after leading the Orange to their first-ever ACC title. In his sixth season as SU’s head coach, McGee steered Syracuse to its fourth straight NCAA Championship appearance.

Additionally, Syracuse’s varsity 8 won ACC Crew of the Year for the second straight year. The boat included Emmie Frederico, Ellie-Kate Hutchinson, Alena Criss, Zoe Acosta, Kamile Kralikaite, India Aikens, Aphrodite Gioulekas, Izabela Krakic and coxswain Caileigh Grimes. Their crucial victory at the ACC Championship broke the tie between SU and Virginia, giving the Orange the win.

Syracuse rounded out the ceremony with five all-conference selections. Frederico, Kralikaite, Gioulekas and Grimes were named to the first team, while Criss was part of the second team. This was Kralikaite’s third-straight first team nomination.

With their ACC Championship win, the Orange earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championship, which will be held from May 31 to June 2. They will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio, looking to build on their ACC Championship title.
