Syracuse field hockey (4-1, 0-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) dropped one spot to No. 15 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Week 2 Poll, which was released Tuesday morning. SU fell despite winning two games over the past weekend against Northeastern and Lafayette.

Syracuse had 389 points on the Week 1 Poll but only received 300 in the second poll. In its game against Northeastern, SU produced a season-high 22 shots. It scored on a Vivian Rowan breakaway and a Hattie Madden deflection off a Bo van Kempen shot. The Orange also secured their second shutout of the season.

Against Lafayette, Bo Madden notched her first goal of the season on a penalty stroke and SU was saved by a van Kempen corner goal with 34.9 seconds remaining. Although its defense allowed 16 penalty corners, only one touched the back of the net.

Syracuse will attempt to continue its winning streak as it travels to face No. 2 North Carolina on Friday and then Longwood on Sunday.
