Stevens: My reaction to the latest ‘Steve Jobs’ movie trailer

Why is there another Steve Jobs movie?

Well, Steve Wozniack backs this one, it’s based off the New York Times best-selling biography “Steve Jobs” by Walter Issacson and was written by Syracuse alum Aaron Sorkin. So yeah, they made a movie.

This new trailer, released Wednesday, outlines three main aspects about Jobs that have become part of his legend: his broken family life, his creative genius and his commanding bossiness. While Michael Fassbender’s face looks nothing like Jobs’, evidence from the trailer shows that he captures these aspects of Jobs in a masterful way.

While this trailer uses much of the same dialogue from the teaser/first look trailer (released this May), it adds the scenery and the tension of face-to-face interactions. The film itself will be split into three parts — one around the introduction of each the Macintosh, NeXT and the iPod. This is both different from the biopic nature of the Ashton Kutcher-led film “Jobs” (2013) and a classic example of how creative Sorkin is with his storytelling.

“Steve Jobs” opens in theaters October 9.
