Here are three takeaways from the Student Association’s Monday night meeting in Maxwell Auditorium:

Sexual assault

SA President Aysha Seedat, Vice President Jane Hong and a few other members of SA attended a leadership symposium at Clemson University over the weekend. At the conference, Seedat presented a talk in collaboration with other students about sexual assault on college campuses. Seedat said Monday night that she hopes her experience at the symposium will make the “It’s On Us” week in April as successful as it was last semester.

Impact Week

This year’s Impact Week will take place April 1-7, SA Community Engagement Chair Alexis Cardwell said Monday. Cardwell spoke to the assembly about certain nonprofits that will be involved in Impact Week this year and new ideas for the week that are still in the works, such as a field day, which would involve a collaboration between SU Athletics and the Boys and Girls Club.

Additionally, Cardwell said either Jim or Juli Boeheim of the Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation could serve as a guest speaker at the week’s closing ceremony in Schine Underground.

Elections

The assembly elected Francois Acosta, a junior, to the general assembly to represent the College of Arts and Sciences.
