Digna Strautmane named ACC Rookie of the Week

Digna Strautmane had back-to-back solid performances including a career day against Boston College.
A day after scoring a career-high 25 points, Digna Strautmane earned Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week honors. It’s the second time she’s earned Rookie of the Week honors this season.
On Sunday at Boston College, Syracuse (17-5, 5-4 Atlantic Coast) beat Boston College 75-57 behind the career day from Strautmane. The native of Riga, Latvia made five 3-pointers, also a career-high, besting her previous high of two. The 6-foot-2 forward made 10-of-16 from the floor and 5-of-9 from downtown. She played a team-high 35 minutes.
Strautmane had a strong night in SU’s defeat of Clemson, as well. Her all-around performance featured 16 points, nine rebounds, four blocks, three steals and two made 3s.
The Orange feature the Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row. Amaya Finklea-Guity, Strautmane’s frontcourt partner, earned the honors last week.
