The humpty dance

On Friday, Sept. 10, Maggie’s Tavern head bouncer Tim Wallace saw something he wishes he hadn’t. The junior political science major said he noticed two patrons grinding heavily on the dance floor. As the two continued their courtship, he said, the man moved from the dance floor to a barstool, but his lady friend kept dancing – on his lap.

‘I just wanted them to go away,’ Wallace said.

Then, he noticed that they had left – but instead of heading out the door, he said, they entered the women’s bathroom. Remembering a story he’d heard from another bouncer (who once found two men and two women having sex in the bathroom stall), Wallace quickly grabbed another bouncer and headed toward the bathroom.

‘I opened the door, pounded on the stall and said, ‘You two have to get out,” Wallace said.

It had only been a few seconds since the couple had entered the stall, Wallace said, but it took them a moment before they opened the stall door. Once they did, the woman had not fully put her skirt back on, he said. According to Wallace, the two didn’t have sex, but they were definitely en route.

‘It was ridiculously disgusting,’ he said.

Baldwin at ‘Bucks

Actor Stephen Baldwin, known for his roles in ‘The Usual Suspects’ and ‘Bio-Dome,’ visited the Marshall Street Starbucks on Tuesday looking for a copy of USA Today. Lizzie Kozar, a barista at Starbucks, was not surprised.

The Baldwins come in all the time,’ Kozar said. ‘All of them. I think they live around here.’

Still, Baldwin’s request could not be fulfilled – the store only carries copies of The New York Times. Baldwin, who was accompanied by a woman (‘It might have been his wife,’ Kozar said. ‘If it was his mother, she looked quite healthy.’), gladly bought The Times instead, along with a drip coffee, Kozar said.

This and that

A woman dressed as a Playboy Bunny tripped and fell in front of an audience at Faegan’s Caf & Pub on Saturday, her friend said. The patrons chanted at the bewildered woman, ‘Bunny down! Bunny down!’ … One fraternity spent Saturday brawling – with girls in a tiny kiddie pool filled with green Jell-O. … For those of you scoring at home, 2,172 Syracuse University students are members of TheFacebook.com.
