SU goalkeeper Asa Goldstock made five saves against Virginia.

Syracuse (3-1, 0-1 Atlantic Coast) dropped one spot to No. 8 in this week’s Inside Lacrosse media poll. The fall comes after the Orange lost on Sunday at then-No. 11 Virginia, 17-16. The Cavaliers leapfrogged Syracuse this week, moving to the No. 7 spot in the poll.

In last week’s poll, SU dropped two spots from the week before, falling from No. 5 to No. 8 over two weeks.

Stony Brook remains atop the rankings for the second week in a row. Four ACC teams are in the Top 10: No. 2 Boston College, No. 6 North Carolina, No. 7 UVA and No. 8 SU.

Syracuse has strong competition in its next two games. The Orange host two games in the Carrier Dome, against No. 4 Florida on Wednesday at 2 p.m followed by a matchup with No. 5 Maryland on Sunday.
