Syracuse entered Saturday's game against Duke ranked 12th in the country.

After losing two of three games since the last update, Syracuse (7-5, 0-3 Atlantic Coast) dropped six spots in this week’s Inside Lacrosse poll, to No. 18. It’s the third-straight week the Orange has dropped in the poll.

Just hours after last week’s rankings came out, Syracuse lost on the road to now-No. 9 Northwestern. SU snuck out a win at an unranked Princeton, 17-16, that wasn’t decided until the final seconds. But on Saturday, Syracuse returned to the Carrier Dome and was crushed by now-No. 16 Duke, losing 17-10.

There are now five ACC teams above the Orange in the poll: No. 2 Boston College, No. 5 North Carolina, No. 10 Virginia, No. 14 Virginia Tech and No. 16 Duke. Three of those teams still remain on SU’s schedule: VT, BC and UNC.

Boston College remains one of two undefeated teams in Division I, at 13-0. No. 1 Stony Brook is 9-0.

Syracuse’s next game is on the road, when the Orange travels to Baltimore, Maryland, to take on Loyola (Maryland) on Thursday. Loyola is up one spot to No. 6 in this week’s poll after beating two unranked teams last week, American and Boston University.
