Syracuse defensive end Josh Manley will transfer to Charlotte after this season, he announced via Twitter Tuesday night.

Manley, a 6-foot-2, 269-pound redshirt freshman from College Park, Ga., saw action in Syracuse’s 13-0 win over Wake Forest on Nov. 2.

Charlotte played its first season as an independent in the Football Championship Subdivision in 2013, finishing 5-6. The 49ers beat Campbell, Chowan and Morehead State each by 40 or more points.
